What is a meter?
Mitters are not considered standard fittings and are made of pipes. Mitters are made using several pieces of pipe and are used to change the direction of pipes with a size of 10 inches and above that work at low pressure and pressure drop is not important. Its use is not allowed for steam lines and thermal power plants.
Mitters may be made of 3, 2 or 5 pieces. The greater the number of pieces, the lower the hydraulic resistance of the meter.
In terms of the type of connection, the mitters are welded and economically, the mitters are more economical than their similar elbows, but considering the line and fluid conditions in the design is of special and high importance.
